The Salt Mines in Wieliczka
Hidden deep underground, with a network of corridors, the Salt Mines in Wieliczka are a touristic destination that attracts about a million of visitors from all around the world each year. The touristic route is a 3-kilometer-long walk covering about 800 stairs. It allows you to see 20 chambers, an underground salt lake and a chapel, where each element of the decoration was made of salt. Unforgettable memories from there prove that the UNESCO was right to choose the Salt Mines to be a part of the very first List of the world heritage that was created in 1978.

Auschwitz-Birkenau
The name of Oświęcim (German: Auschwitz), a town located around 70 kilometers from Kraków, is known all around the world for one reason and one reason only – this is where during the World War II the German Nazis created a complex of concentration camps, including an extermination camp. The camp, existing in years 1940–45, became a symbol of the Holocaust and cruelty of the World War II. During a guided tour you can see the remains of the subcamps Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau.
